WHO promoted the Healthy Cities project to encourage local planning actions in order to support healthier and sustainable cities. This study presents the initiatives and outcomes that Viana do Castelo has been following, by including health in its political agenda, through the development of health intervention projects, with special incidence in the environment and mobility areas.
