Recently, a Regional Plan for Innovation in Alentejo was developed for future implementation. Agriculture and agri-food sectors are considered among the most relevant to promote regional innovation. The main objective of this paper is to present to ICAM units and researchers the innovation strategy adopted for Alentejo in order to organise and prepare their plans, programs and actions and also, to benefit from available support programs to promote innovation in the sector and in the technologies of the mediterranean agricultural systems and ICAM mission.
