PINTADO, C. J. M.; PERES, C.; PINHEIRO-ALVES, M. C.  y  PERES, F.. Olive oil from organic agriculture and integrated production: quality parameters evaluation. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2007, vol.30, n.1, pp.362-366. ISSN 0871-018X.

In Beira Baixa, organic and integrated protection olive grove management are considered as true alternatives and are seen by many as offering considerable benefits over other production systems, particularly with respect to sustainable development. Indeed, these agriculture systems can eradicate or minimize local negative environmental externalities and, simultaneously, bring better profits to the farmer and promote olive products safety. This study was undertaken to evaluate olive oil quality from organic and integrated protection agricultural systems. Analytical parameters of Galega olive oils were widely within European Union ruled limits, so the samples could be labelled “Extra virgin”. Olive oil obtained from both agricultural systems, organic and integrated protection, showed high quality standards.
