CESSA, Raphael Maia Aveiro; NOVELINO, José Oscar; VITORINO, Antonio Carlos Tadeu  e  MAUAD, Munir. Phosphorus absorption and Sorghum growth in function of the silicon and phosforus aplications in a Rhodic Ferrasol . Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2011, vol.34, n.1, pp.135-142. ISSN 0871-018X.

This study was realized in greenhouse with the subjective of to evaluate the growth and P absorption by sorghum in function of the levels of silicon (Si) and of phosphorus (P). in an Rhodic Ferrasol representative of Mato Grosso do Sul Estate - Brazil. The experimental design was random blocks, with four repetitions, in a factorial scheme 5x5, whose treatment was composed by five levels of Si (0, 100, 200, 300 e 400 mg dm-3) and of P (0, 160, 280, 420 e 560 mg dm-3). The exploitation of P for the sorghum in function of pre-aplications of silicon, objetiving to block the adsortive charge, was little expressive. The characteristics of the plant as dry matter from the shoot, diameter of stem and plant stature, was significantly influenced only by P applitions in soil. However, the Si application increased lineary the absortion of the P by sorghum and influenced positively the recovery rate of P applied Si, which was better detected by Olsen extractant.
