To assess the information and attitudes concerning the use of pesticides by farmers and agricultural workers of the Douro region, after the frequency of application courses of plant protection products, between 2002 and 2006, under the QCA III, an investigation was carried out in the form of a direct interview, with a written questionnaire, of 100 individuals which covered the universe of 1565 individuals who attended 120 courses. The sample was randomly selected. The questionnaire included structured and open issues of personal and professional nature and on attitudes and knowledge in the use of pesticides. Data were obtained on the characteristics of the farming population, farmers and farm workers, on the use of plant protection products and personal protective equipment and motivation for the course.
