Resumen

MARTINS, Wesley A.; SANTOS, Silvia C.  y  SMILJANIC, Kátya B. A.. Thermal requirement and yield of ‘Niagara Rosada’ grapevine in different pruning times in the Cerrado of Brazil. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2014, vol.37, n.2, pp.171-178. ISSN 0871-018X.

Grape yield in tropical regions showed an expressive increase. Adding irrigation makes possible that, in these regions, pruning can be done in anytime of the year. This work aimmed to characterize thermal requirement and to evaluate the development, yield and quality of ‘Niagara Rosada’ grapevine variety submitted to different pruning times in Santa Rita do Araguaia - Goiás - Brasil. The experiment was carried out in a commercial vineyard, in a randomized experimental block design with five blocks and ten treatments (pruning times). The cycle length (pruning to harvest) varied from 121 to 141 days in those ten pruning times. For base temperature of 10 °C and 12 °C, the values of degree days kept between 1,566.2 to 1,717.4 and 1,322.2 to 1,496.1, respectively. ‘Niagara Rosada’ yield was possible in those ten proposed pruning times. Those ten pruning times influenced the phenological behavior of ‘Niagara Rosada’, showing differet thermal requirements. The use of ten times of pruning for a rural property offers advantages to the producer and enlarges the availability of the fruit to consumers.

Palabras clave : pruning times; Vitis labrusca; Vitis vinifera; vine; ºBrix.
