Resumen

SANTOS, Leandro; BIDARRA, Zelimar; SCHMIDT, Carla  y  STADUTO, Jefferson. Public Polices for organic products trade in Brazil. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2017, vol.40, n.2, pp.170-180. ISSN 0871-018X.  https://doi.org/10.19084/RCA16131.

The objective of this work is to make a descriptive analysis on the public policies that have been implemented in Brazil for two aspects of the trade of organic products, namely, certification and the incentive to consumption. First, it analyzed the existing instruments regarding regulation and certification for trade in products. The analysis was based on a Federal Law, two Decrees and four Normative Instructions that regulate the certification process in the country. Next, we discussed the incentives to consume such products, which, by being healthier, can bring about improvements in the quality of life of the population. With regard to incentives for consumption, it highlights the importance of institutional markets such as the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) and the National School Feeding Programme (PNAE). Such incentives are present in the National Plan of Agroecology and Organic Production (PLANAPO) 2013-2015 and 2016-2019, and thus, has also been the focus of public policies implemented in Brazil.

Palabras clave : Organic Farming; Certification; Public Policies.
