Abstract

SOARES, Rosângela Oliveira et al. Short circuit marketing dynamics in Lugo, Galiza. Rev. de Ciências Agrárias [online]. 2020, vol.43, n.spe1, pp.21-30.  Epub Dec 01, 2020. ISSN 0871-018X.  https://doi.org/10.19084/rca.19029.

There are several marketing channels used to distribute food production. However, there are ecological-based food production initiatives that use alternative marketing channels, such as short supply chains, civic food chains, specialized fairs and specialty stores, as well as consumer groups. In this case, a study was carried out to characterize a specific type of food supply in which farmers and consumers work together in a collaborative way for the functioning of this dynamic, as a form of responsible consumption. The methodology used was the case study, complemented by literature review, interviews and photographic records. Different bodies of knowledge were mobilized for the analysis and interpretation of the social practices involved in organizational processes, interpersonal relationships, knowledge construction and food activism. The results indicate that this dynamics of supply goes beyond the food trade and that, finally, it seeks the materialization of a distinct society and food system.

Keywords : eco-based foods; short food supply chains (SFSCs); alternative economy; Lugo Galiza.
