Abstract

The authors present two cases of leiomyomas with submucosal location that were diagnosed in the immediate post partum stage in which myomectomy was essential for a normal evolution of the 3th and 4th period of labour. In the first case, the resolution of the haemorrhage was achieved by digital dissection of a submucosal myoma with 6,0 x 5,0 x 4,0 cm(s). In the second case, due to a situation of retroplacental leiomyoma, a manual placental separation was performed with a block exertion of the leiomyoma (8cm in diameter) and the placenta (541,5g).
