TORRES, Sandra et al. Contribution to the Portuguese Adaptation of the Interview for the Diagnosis of Eating Disorders-IV (IDED-IV) specifically for Anorexia Nervosa. Arq Med [online]. 2008, vol.22, n.4-5, pp.113-119. ISSN 2183-2447.
Introduction: The clinical interview is considered the gold standard for establishing the diagnosis of Eating Disorders. There is no internationally recognised semi-structured interview for eating disorders that has been validated for the Portuguese population. The present study developed an adaptation of the Portuguese version of the Interview for the Diagnosis of Eating Disorders-IV (IDED-IV; Kutlesic, Williamson, Gleaves, Barbin, & Murphy-Eberenz, 1998), specifically for the diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa. Methods: The Portuguese version of IDED-IV was administered to 98 female participants with a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa previously established by a team of clinicians. Results: The administration of IDED-IV revealed acceptable internal consistency and high diagnostic sensitivity. Conclusions: The preliminary results of this psychometric study of the Portuguese version of IDED-IV reinforces its use for both clinical and research purposes.
