Abstract

MANSO, António Canaveira; MANSO, Luís Canaveira; CARVALHO, Hélder  and  SOUSA, Francisco Castro. Sacrococcigeal Pilonidal Sinus: ambulatory excision without suture. Arq Med [online]. 2011, vol.25, n.4, pp.137-140. ISSN 2183-2447.

Some of us have experience of Sacrococcigeal Sinus Pilonidal excision, with and without primary suture. The first was done before 1990 and the other one, since then. The comparison of the two techniques and the “open” results, made us decide that it is the best without suture, with local anesthetise and on ambulatory, it is safe, quick and doesn’t have limitations to the hygiene and activity of the patient, although the wound must be dressed every day.

Keywords : close technique; with primary suture; open technique; without suture.
