CAMPOS, Teresa Almeida; REBELO, Joana; MAIA, Ana  y  BRITO, Iva. Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis: an entity to recognize!. Arq Med [online]. 2011, vol.25, n.5-6, pp.183-185. ISSN 2183-2447.

Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO) is an inflammatory osteoarticular disease that manifests itself mostly in children. Mainly affects long bones and clavicle, and, less often, the spine and pelvis. We report the case of a ten-year-old child, evaluated by lower back pain and scoliosis resultant of an inflammatory injury at L5. four months later, after clinical improvement, reference to left knee pain and scoliosis. further exams revealed similar lesions in left hip and right sacroiliac joints, with regression of the pre-existing lumbar injury. The analytical and microbiological studies remained normal. The CROM diagnosis was based in the fluctuating evolution of bone lesions, absence of systemic manifestations or analytical changes, and clinical improvement with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory therapy.

Palabras clave : chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis; scoliosis.
