Abstract

In the 50 and 60`s teaching and learning process has been influenced by behaviorism, a psychological theory that viewed learning as the progressive refinement of student answers do external instructional stimulus. On the search for a scientific theory of instruction it was then recognised that new media could function as additional sources of stimulation and motivation to student learning process; based on those premises developped then an important volume of empirical research on learning with media. In this paper will be presented and analysed the theorical and methodological referentials of research in the field of Educational Technology under the behaviorism. Evidences of three decades of research that influenced the years to come for this young scientific domain in the social sciences will also be discussed and questioned.
