Abstract

TRINDADE, Rui. The diffusion of Dewey s pedagogical work in Portugal: The contribution of Adolfo Lima. Rev. Port. de Educação [online]. 2020, vol.33, n.1, pp.21-37. ISSN 0871-9187.  https://doi.org/10.21814/rpe.18825.

Dewey's work in Portugal began to be disseminated by the Portuguese pedagogue Adolfo Lima from the pedagogical reflection that he performed under the influence of New Education Fellowship ideas and proposals. This work was carried out from the analysis of Lima s books and papers and the reading and analysis of Dewey s most important books to produce an interpellation process which intends to reveal the strategies used by Lima to appropriate Dewey's work, the epistemological and conceptual tensions that emerged in the context of such process and some of the darker areas of New Education Fellowship pedagogical ideas and proposals that acquire visibility with that interpellation process.

Keywords : John Dewey; Adolfo Lima; New Education Fellowship.
