This article aims to present the 25AprilPTLab project, which demands to create an online platform with content dedicated to Portuguese contemporary history, particularly to the period between 1958 and 1982. The article displays the early processes developed within the scope of the project, namely the surveys carried out with teachers in order to determine their difficulties in teaching the themes related to the aforementioned period, what kind of supports they need and to what extent the platform will respond to these problems. Simultaneously, the article aims to value new methods of teaching, research and assimilation of historical knowledge, articulating these practices with the challenges proposed by the present time.
