Resumen

FERREIRA, Simone De Mamann; GESSER, Marivete; BOCK, Geisa Letícia Kempfer  y  LEANDRO, Gabriel Carvalho. Scientific production on ableism in basic education: An integrative literature review. Rev. Port. de Educação [online]. 2023, vol.36, n.1, e23022.  Epub 23-Jun-2023. ISSN 0871-9187.  https://doi.org/10.21814/rpe.27998.

This research aims to characterize the way in which ableism is reproduced in basic education and to identify contributions to the construction of anti-ableist educational practices. Data were obtained through an integrative review study that covered scientific articles and theoretical essays published in international and national journals between 2009 and 2020. The databases used to collect the publications were: Social Sciences Citation Index (Web of Science), Elsevier (Scopus), Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO) e Educational Resources Information Centre (ERIC). The analysis was performed using a protocol structured by the author(s) containing general characteristics of the articles and content analysis (Bardin, 2004). The emerging categories from the data collection were: 1) reproduction of ableism in basic education; 2) ableism as an intersectional experience, and 3) contributions to anti-ableist educational practices in basic education. It was concluded that ableism is present in the planning of activities and school curricula and the effect is to maintain several barriers that hinder access to knowledge and the participation of students with disabilities in basic education. Thus, the proposition and implementation of anti-ableist educational practices is necessary and urgent to guarantee the right to education of this population. It is essential that ableism is included as a topic to be discussed in teacher training, as well as in the production of knowledge for greater dissemination of the concept in society.

Palabras clave : Ableism; Anti ableism; Basic Education; School Inclusion.
