The papular urticaria or prurigo strophulus is defined as a chronic relapsing dermatosis which results from a hypersensitivity reaction to insect bites. It is a common disease in the pediatric age, mainly in children over two years. In this article, the authors review the etiology, histopathology/pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment of papular urticaria.
