Contact dermatitis is a common disease seen by allergists, dermatologists and primary care physicians. It is an entity that should always be considered in the presence of eczema not responding to treatment. The purpose of this article is to review the literature on contact dermatitis in which the authors discuss the main types of contact dermatitis, diagnosis, some specific groups and some therapeutic considerations
