Abstract

FERREIRA, Cristiana  and  GUILHERME, Maria Arminda. Approach to treatment of recurrent wheezing in preschool Children. Rev Port Imunoalergologia [online]. 2020, vol.28, n.4, pp.217-229. ISSN 0871-9721.  https://doi.org/10.32932/rpia.2020.12.045.

Pre-school wheezing is a heterogeneous and multifactorial clinical entity, very prevalent; the prognosis varies from complete resolution by school-age in the majority of the situations, to persistence culminating in the diagnosis of asthma or irreversible changes in lung function. Despite the many longitudinal studies that have allowed a great evolution of knowledge in this area, its therapeutic approach remains a challenge, since the same symptoms may correspond to different diagnoses and prognoses. In this context, knowledge about the different wheezing phenotypes and risk factors is important to better define the prognosis of these patients. This article aims to review the information available in the literature about the therapeutic approach to recurrent preschool age wheezing

Keywords : Asthma; preschool age; recurrent wheezing; therapeutic approach.
