Abstract

GONCALO, Margarida  and  COSTA, Célia. Questionnaire recommended by the Portuguese Group of Urticaria Studies (GPEU) for the evaluation of patients with Chronic Urticaria in an outpatient clinic. Rev Port Imunoalergologia [online]. 2022, vol.30, n.1, pp.43-49.  Epub Mar 27, 2022. ISSN 0871-9721.  https://doi.org/10.32932/rpia.2022.03.077.

Chronic urticaria (CU) is a complex, multifactorial disease, with different phenotypes and endotypes, common in clinical practice, which has a significant impact on the patient’s quality of life. The CU diagnosis is essentially clinical. Additional tests may be necessary to screen for etiological/aggravating factors and/or comorbidities but currently, biomarkers of diagnosis and/or prognosis and/or therapy response are scarce. Thus, in the first evaluation of a CU patient, the Portuguese Group of Urticaria

Studies (GPEU) proposes a systematic, standardized questionnaire, which allows for the identification of parameters associated with greater severity and which leads to the optimization of therapy or the guidance of complementary diagnostic tests.

Keywords : Angioedema; chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU); chronic inducible urticaria (CIndU); outpatient clinic; questionnaire; urticaria.
