Abstract

LACERDA, Catarina et al. Dermatology case. Nascer e Crescer [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.3, pp.199-201. ISSN 0872-0754.

Aims: To report a case of uncharacteristic presentation of Parvovirus B19. This virus causes some atypical cutaneous rash such as papular-purpuric “gloves and socks” syndrome which is a rare entity, self-limited and resolves spontaneously to cure. Case Report: Authors describe a case of a six-year-old boy who went to the Emergency Department with a cutaneous rash initially on a finger and then mouth, hands and feet followed by fever. He fully recovered without sequelae. Conclusions: It is important to consider this agent as a pos sible responsible for atypical purpuric rash.

Keywords : “gloves and socks” syndrome; Parvovirus B19; purpuric rash.
