Abstract

ABREU, Margarida S. et al. Disseminated tuberculosis in an infant - Case report. Nascer e Crescer [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.2, pp.122-126.  Epub June 30, 2023. ISSN 0872-0754.  https://doi.org/10.25753/birthgrowthmj.v32.i2.23772.

Infants are a particularly vulnerable group for the development of severe and/or extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis. The difficulty in establishing a definitive and timely diagnosis contributes to the high morbimortality in this age group. Investigation often relies on a high index of suspicion. Herein is reported a case of disseminated tuberculosis in an infant that highlights its clinical complexity and diagnostic challenge.
