Resumen

SOUSA, Luís Nuno. Polytechnic education, entrepreneurship and transition to work. Sociologia [online]. 2017, n.tematico7, pp.75-99. ISSN 0872-3419.  https://doi.org/10.21747/08723419/soctem2017a4.

The growing increase in unemployment among higher education graduates goes beyond the simple question of the entry flow into the higher education system in Portugal, the process of transition to the labor market has become more complex, reflecting an increase in competition in the market job opportunities and shortage of career opportunities in the labor market, postponing the professional expectations of the young. This movement has gained in recent years a growing dimension and, currently, represents one of the great concerns of the various entities involved in this process. Consequently, promoting entrepreneurship in higher education can today represent a central support in the process of transition to the work of graduates. The “Poliempreende” program represents, in this movement, the efforts of Polytechnic Higher Education in this sense. Based on the results obtained with the application of the online survey applied to the participants of this program, we intend here to contribute to the exploration and reflection of the relationship between entrepreneurship in higher education, diplomas and the labor market

Palabras clave : polytechnic higher education; entrepreneurship; transition to work.
