The authors present a clinical case of a patient hospitalized for acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding originating from a gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST). They highlight the young age of this female patient and the relevance of endoscopic ultrasound both in diagnosis and in characterization of these sorts of tumours. This clinical case serves as a springboard for a short review of the topic.
