Abstract

SCHLITTLER, Luís Alberto et al. Small Cell Carcinoma of the Esophagus. J Port Gastrenterol. [online]. 2011, vol.18, n.5, pp.243-246. ISSN 0872-8178.

Primary small cell carcinoma of the esophagus is a rare disease, characterized by an aggressive course with poor overall outcome. The incidence rate ranges from 0,8% to 2,4% of all esophageal malignancies, with approximately 350 cases described in the literature1-3. Authors report two cases of male patients, with esophageal small cell carcinoma, treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
