Abstract

DUQUE, Gabriela et al. Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma: A case with rapid progression. J Port Gastrenterol. [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.1, pp.30-35. ISSN 0872-8178.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpg.2012.04.014.

Hepatic Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma (HEH) is a malignant vascular tumor, however its aggressive behavior is variable. Its signs and symptoms are not specific and its identification is incidental. The heterogeneity in the imagiologic exams difficult its diagnosis and this is only established in the histological examination. Its treatment is not standardized and is sometimes controversial. The authors present the clinical case of a male patient in the fifth decade of life, with the diagnosis of HEH with pulmonary and bone metastasis, with a rapid clinical deterioration that determined his death in a period of time inferior to 2 months.

Keywords : Hepatic Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma; Metastasis; Hepatic transplantation.
