Michel Foucault is one of the key Western thinkers of the last 50 years. Even though his ideas have been used to discuss issues of power in Organizational Analysis, most of works drawing in his perspective have been addressed to discuss issues related to disciplinary power in organizational context. In this context, this paper aims to present Foucault’s work on governamentality and discuss its possible contribution to analyze power dynamics in organizational context. In order to do that, the paper will first discuss the notion of governamentality in Foucault’s work. Then, it will debate the different governamentalities addressed by the author to give some suggestions of how this notion can be deployed to analyze power relations in organizations.
