This paper presents simple methods for determining the concentration of toxic substances inside buildings, due to immediate release. Some case studies are also presented, showing that these methods could go towards solving typical problems involved in building ventilation, such as the quantification of the number of air renovations necessary to exhaust toxic gases from inside buildings or to avoid the contamination by toxic gases coming from outside.
