Introduction:

This study includes discussions health integrality, a principle from the Unified Health System - UHS in the professional training process of physiotherapists.

Objective:

Analyze the faces of health integrality in physiotherapy undergraduate courses in Brasilian higher education institutions.

Methods:

It was an exploratory, descriptive, documentary study with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The data were collected on the websites of educational institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture and registered with the Regional Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy of the 10th Region, in Brazil, totaling 11 higher education institutions. For the treatment and analysis of the data, the MAXQDA program was used.

Results:

Six facets of integrality emerged from undergraduate courses in physiotherapy: holistic, expanded, integrated, fragmented, hidden and null. The results, reveal the importance of constantly revising the curricular matrices and the inclusion of Unified Health System in their syllabuses. It is also necessary to include the Unified Health System principles to ensure trained professionals the right preparation to work in the system.

Conclusions:

The study suggests that there is a favorable space for strengthening the primary care model already in the training process, so that students can experience, from an early age, practices that strengthen health services.
