Introduction:

Discussions around the relationship between health and the environment in the school context open spaces to sensitize the adolescent population regarding the development of educational actions aimed at prevention and health promotion that reinforce their socio-environmental commitment.

Objetive:

To know the perception of adolescents about the relationship between health and the environment in the school environment.

Methods:

Descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, carried out with adolescents from a high school in the state of Ceará. Thirteen adolescents participated, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the content technique.

Results:

Three thematic categories were originated related to the adolescents' perception of the discussed theme, the relationship between health and the environment, themes, Environmental Health in the school context. Approach to health and environment education practices, valuing issues related to pollution, deforestation, climate change and urbanization.

Conclusion:

It encourages the need to include the theme of environmental health in educational practices, allowing the expansion of reflections that can make the adolescent autonomous in terms of carrying out behaviors that minimize the risk to health and favor actions to promote health.
