In this article the author takes a close look at the process of constructing identities. She sees identity as dynamic and not essentialist - as something that results from a whole range of factors, which she seeks to outline using the concept of networked identities. Her analysis is centred on the associative movement and sociability networks and is based on ethnographic research at the Xuventude de Galícia (Galician Youth) Association and the interaction between the descendants of Galician and Portuguese families that takes place there.
