Abstract

ALMEIDA, Paulo Pereira de. Services and sociology of work: what practices? What objects?. Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas [online]. 2005, n.47, pp.47-67. ISSN 0873-6529.

In this article we discuss some of the theoretical frameworks for characterizing the sociology of work at the beginning of the twenty-first century. We argue that such a description must begin with the characterization of industrial companies and then go on to characterize service enterprises. In relation to some of the specifics of tertiary work, the article also offers proposals for a sociology of work applied to the world of production in services, namely a model of the service company and a set of objects to be investigated within the scope of a sociology of tertiary work.

Keywords : Work; servicization; service enterprise; co-production.
