At the centre of this article is the identification of educational patterns in the European Union and the associated trends, on the basis of a selection of comparative European statistics. With a view to completing a mosaic of socio-educational configurations in the EU, one of its complementary analytical aims is to interpret indicators that, in some form, express the schooling conditions and processes of the various countries’ populations.
