Abstract

VAZQUEZ, José Francisco Durán. The moral value of work in post-fordism. Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas [online]. 2008, n.56, pp.129-148. ISSN 0873-6529.

One of the main objectives of this article is to analyse the lines of discourse on work that emerged in post-fordism. For this reason, we seek, albeit superficially, to return to the origin of this type of discourse and follow its development to the point of its conversion into one of the fundamental ideological principles for the structuring and legitimation of modern societies. In the second part of the article, we demonstrate how in post-fordism, in a period in which the experience of work became more unstable, uncertain and precarious, the discourse on work had to be brought up to date, not only in accordance with the modern ideology of work but also the more individualistic values of the most recent modernity.

Keywords : moral; work; post-fordism.
