Abstract

The occupational activities and relationships in an imaging department at a public, not university, hospital are the central topic of the research work presented here. With the sociology of occupations as the background, this research covers issues such as occupational independence and authority, the relationships, tensions and conflicts within and between occupations, the configurations taken on by technology in the imaging field, and the power of the medical profession and its effects on the appearance and establishment of new health occupations.
