This article analyses a particular New Opportunities Centre in the provinces, one that organises its activities on an association basis. At the beginning, the text recalls the origin of this programme and details the local framework in which the study was carried out. It then makes an analysis of the practices and representations of the adults and specialised staff connected with the programme. Finally, it seeks to offer a number of reflections on the orientation, goals and methods used.
