Abstract

DUARTE, Alexandra. Vocational education in public policies: agenda-setting analyse between 1986 and 2009. Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas [online]. 2014, n.75, pp.151-170. ISSN 0873-6529.  https://doi.org/10.7458/SPP2014753580.

The government programs are important sources of information for the analysis of public policies. Based on this assumption we present a set of results of thematic content analysis of these documents, in order to understand the process of agenda-setting behind the introduction of professional courses in public schools. Through this analysis it is possible to have an approach to the agenda-setting process and the formulation of the policy, identifying the issues that led to the decision and the problems it intended to respond.

Keywords : public policies; education policy; vocational education; secondary education.
