Abstract

GARCIA, Rubén Martínez; VALENZUELA, Ángela L. de  and  CRESPO, Laura Varela. The impact of the crisis on the conciliation of daily times: analysis of the families of primary education students in Galicia. Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas [online]. 2018, n.87, pp.29-44. ISSN 0873-6529.  https://doi.org/10.7458/SPP2018879498.

The paper focuses on studying the perception of Galician families with children enrolled in primary school (6-12 years old) about the impact of the economic crisis in reconciling their family, work and personal life, analyzing their satisfaction in regard to it. Based on data questionnaire prepared ad hoc for the families, the results indicate that more than half of the subjects (n = 2037) consider that the crisis did not affect the harmonization of their daily time. However, most of them are not satisfied with the organization of the times of their daily life, showing that the crisis could undermine their ability to achieve their professional, family and personal goals.

Keywords : economic recession; work-life balance; family; satisfaction.
