Resumen

BORGES, Vera. Public policies for culture and management of theater venues: the National Theater D. Maria II in Lisbon. Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas [online]. 2021, n.95, pp.43-60.  Epub 01-Ago-2021. ISSN 0873-6529.  https://doi.org/10.7458/spp20219517203.

This article presents the general lines of the European public policy paradigms for culture, and discusses the new missions and geographies of cultural facilities. A brief snapshot of sociological work helps to illustrate the microdynamic relationships of individual career paths and cultural organizations. Culture is presented as a productive tool capable of revealing not only the intrinsic motivations and personal resources of the actors involved, but also their implications as agents that produce the worldview inherent in public policies.

Palabras clave : public policies for culture; cultural facilities; individual and organizational career paths..
