Abstract

MOSCOSO, María Fernanda. Children’s expulsion: migration policies and State borders in Germany. Etnográfica [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.1, pp.33-55. ISSN 0873-6561.

Through the analysis of the impact on the lives of a group of undocumented Ecuadorian children living in Germany, this article investigates the mechanisms of the European border system. The article describes the micro-experiences that take place in a context of persecution, imprisonment and State deportation, taking into consideration the logic of the movement of goods, capital and children within the capitalist world. To this end, the article conducts an analysis of four situations or spaces that crystalize the mechanisms through which both undocumented children who live in Germany become the object of protection and legislation by the States and adults, are expelled from the education system, are vulnerable in situations of domestic violence, and become bodies that should be thrown out of borders.

Keywords : children; undocumented; migratory politics; body; family; school.
