The importance given to the so-called traditional artisanship is noticeable around the world nowadays. Such objects mobilise a large network of people, institutions and public policies with different motivations and objectives. This article has as its objective analysis of four main discursive matrices towards traditional artisanship, which have strengthened in the mid-20thcentury in Brazil. This study aims to appoint its main characteristics, social agents, strategies and repercussions in traditional artisanship field in the current context.
