Abstract

BORGES, Raul Elton Araújo; SILVA, Mercês de Fátima dos Santos  and  MELO, Lucas Pereira de. Concerning languages, network socialities and HIV/AIDS: scientific dissemination, subjectivities and life enhancement in a Brazilian blog. Etnográfica [online]. 2023, vol.27, n.1, pp.96-115.  Epub Apr 28, 2023. ISSN 0873-6561.  https://doi.org/10.4000/etnografica.13095.

Based on data produced through digital ethnography, we analyze how the interaction in a Brazilian blog allowed the production of subjectivities and agency services mediated by biomedical scientific practices directed to HIV/AIDS. The narratives highlighted scientific dissemination, sharing of information and experiences as elements in the processes of normalization and enhancement of life with HIV/AIDS. In addition, the study unveiled the access and sharing of biomedical and scientific information on the blog as a facilitator in the production and development of expert patients and the pharmaceuticalization of life as a consequence of the experience of living with HIV/AIDS.
