Abstract

GRASSI, Marzia. Practices, forms and solidarity in the integration of young people of Angolan origin into the Portuguese society and labour market. Economia Global e Gestão [online]. 2007, vol.12, n.3, pp.71-91. ISSN 0873-7444.

This paper aims to present some data collected through a questionnaire applied to a population of 200 young people (between 18 and 30 years old) with Angolan origin living in the area of Great Lisbon. The integrated questionnaire for the measurement of the Social Capital within the nets of Angolan young was adapted from a questionnaire of the World Bank (Grootaert et al., 2003) to the Portuguese migratory context in the scope of «Angola in Movement» project. The main objective of the presentation is to discuss organized information about the performance of solidarities and trust in the familiar, social and ethnical networks, in relation with the access of young migrant people to the labour market in Portugal.

Keywords : Social Network; Informality; Immigration; Integration; Labour Market.
