Abstract

The objective of this paper was to investigate the relationships between the key aspects of the information system within the process of vision and strategic management among agribusiness organizations from the poultry industry of Pernambuco State. For this survey 27 companies were analyzed and eight aspects inherent in the system of information related to strategic management were investigated. This research studied the following variables: dissemination strategies, means of diffusion, strategic goals, feedback channels, markets explored, use of periodic reports, use of benchmarking, and strategic horizon. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. To achieve the objective, three complementary multivariate methodological approaches were used: cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling and factor analysis. The results obtained by cluster analysis showed empirical evidence of the existence of relationships between the various factors related to financial information used within the cost management practices on the basis of the identification of a group. The core of this group identified included the variables relating to information of setting goals and the use of feedback mechanisms.
