Abstract

Context: health education contributes to the development of critical awareness and stimulates problem-solving and organization for collective action. Objectives: to present the performance of health professionals in educational actions and to identify how they apply them. Methodology: a quantitative exploratory research. A semi-structured questionnaire was used with health professionals from the Basic Family Health Units in the Tambor neighborhood - Campina Grande/PB district. Results and discussion: The educative actions are conducted in a participatory approach together with information propagation; the active groups receive necessary support; the information is well understood; and the various methodological instruments. These contribute to its success. Conclusion: the health education, once implemented, reaches users satisfactorily and contributes to improve the quality of life of the population.
