Abstract

SOUZA, Márcia Christina Caetano de et al. Workshop on the teaching project of the nursing course: reflecting on innovations, challenges and potential. Rev. Enf. Ref. [online]. 2012, vol.serIII, n.8, pp.67-73. ISSN 0874-0283.  https://doi.org/10.12707/RIII11128.

Framework: education in a higher education setting in nursing requires the establishment of educational resources to encourage students to acquire the skills and competencies essential to the exercise of the profession. A reflexive, critical and interdisciplinary approach has been stimulated by the integrated curriculum. The innovative aspect of this type of education has hampered its application in practice, and it is essential to reflect on the process of implementation of this curriculum. Objectives: to describe the factors that complicate the implementation of the integrated pedagogical project and to identify intervention strategies for its implementation by teachers. Methodology: this is a report of lived experience in the form of a workshop whose participants have tried out possible strategies for overcoming challenges in the implementation of the integrated pedagogical project in the nursing course at a public university in Brazil. Result: difficulty in the integration of teachers and knowledge in different areas and the weakness of students’ knowledge are barriers to the realization of the pedagogical proposal, according workshop participants. Conclusion: we believe that this process is essential for the construction of an educational project in the course within the framework of institutional interdisciplinarity and the integration of knowledge; it will determine the structural conditions and skills training desired for students.
