Resumen

THEOTONIO, Sofia Arez  y  VALA, Jorge. The experience of justice and injustice in organisational context. Psicologia [online]. 1999, vol.13, n.1-2, pp.53-73. ISSN 0874-2049.  https://doi.org/10.17575/rpsicol.v13i1/2.559.

This study examined the experience of justice and injustice in organizations. 193 participants from 18 organizations were asked a) to describe an episode were they had felt unjustly treated by their supervisor (stimulus 1) or to describe a personal episode of injustice in their organization (stimulus 2); b) to describe what would have made this episode a just situation (justice claim). Episodes were categorized and classified in terms of (in)justice dimensions. Results show that distributive dimensions shape injustice situations, and procedural and interactional dimensions shape justice claims. Moreover, in order to understand the structural organization of the episodes a multiple correspondence factor analysis was conducted. Results show that age and seniority are the organizational and social-demographic positions that have highest discrimination coefficients. This same analysis also showed that injustice episodes are structured around distributive dimensions. Conversely, justice claims are structured around procedural and interactional dimensions. The hypothesis that perceptions of justice are bi-dimensional rather than bipolar is discussed.

Palabras clave : Justiça; injustiça; organizações.
