Resumen

CURRAL, Luís A.  y  CHAMBEL, Maria José. Group processes in innovation teams. Psicologia [online]. 1999, vol.13, n.1-2, pp.163-192. ISSN 0874-2049.  https://doi.org/10.17575/rpsicol.v13i1/2.565.

Research on group innovation has been emphasising the influence of antecedent factors, such as composition, size or diversity, on innovation outcomes. Adopting a framework where group performance is conceptualised as an input-process-output. Anderson & West (1996) purported a model of four major group processes: vision, Pprticipation, task orientation and support for innovation. They suggest that these factors can be important in facilitating innovation, specially for the proposal, development and implementation of ideas. In a study with portuguese advertising agencies we tryed to understand whether the group processes in highly innovative teams would be different from the ones in moderate or low inovativeness teams. If group processes are important in predicting innovation, one could expect that in teams whose major task is to create something new, these processes be more actual than in teams who engage in innovation only from time to time. Results go in the expected direction.
