Abstract

GARCIA, Marie-Carmen. The mistresses of married men: Sense and Feelings in adulterous love in a gender perspective. Ex aequo [online]. 2011, n.23, pp.53-66. ISSN 0874-5560.

This paper deals with the representation of love in relationships between single women and married men. The idea is to question the current theories about adultery love who deny gender dimension in the contemporary world. This paper reveals that men and women are romantic lovers, but the dominant model of masculinity, sustained by men on reality, disregards the importance of love feelings against the value of inner self and social status while women adhere to this model.

Keywords : gender; love; extra-conjugal love; femininity and masculinity.
