Abstract

CALESSO-MOREIRA, Mariana et al. Immigrant’s teenage motherhood in the Catalan context. Ex aequo [online]. 2011, n.24, pp.13-28. ISSN 0874-5560.

Studies on motherhood and adolescence are related to contextualized analyses of lifestyles and to discourses regarding these life experiences, which influence sexuality and its ways of expression. The ten participants in the study are primarily Spanish Americans. The method used to analyze the biographical interviews was Content Analysis. The results have shown five categories: family maladjustment, separations, losses, physical violence, and sexual violence. The personal change experience’s narratives have shown to be strictly connected. In the same way, the migratory event seems to be a transversal and paradigmatic axis in all narratives about the stress experienced by these young mothers.

Keywords : adolescence; motherhood; immigration; stress.
